Classes, knitalongs, etc...

The Baby Sophisticate Knitalong is going strong! Some people are on their second jacket.

Mine is on the left, done with 2 skeins of Lamb's Pride Bulky; total cost around $20 depending on what buttons you want. On the right, you see Miss Yolanda's Baby Sophisticate - she even got buttons on hers!

We have a couple of people who just started, so it's not too late to jump on this very popular bandwagon!

A knitalong means everybody works on the same project, with guidance from me available when needed. You can pay $20 up front and participate however many times you like, or pay a $5 drop-in fee and attend only when you want to.

The Baby Sophisticate Knitalong is on Mondays 6pm - 7:30pm. Call the store at 426-1425 to sign up! And keep your eyes peeled for what the next knitalong will be.

Ravel-huh? Tonight!

We're doing a repeat of the Ravelry workshop.
If you've ever felt a little lost on Ravelry, this is not something you want to miss!

So you went to Ravelry to sign up, picked an imaginative but not too silly name, and got in. Now what?

If you are convinced that Ravelry is incredibly nifty, but you're a little vague on how, exactly - this workshop is for you! I will go over many of the different ways in which Ravelry can be the best tool in your arsenal, second only to knitting needles and yarn. I will lead the workshop at the Pattern Station™, and will have chairs spread out so everyone can see. If you want to follow along on your laptop or iPad, you are more than welcome to bring it - we are a laptop/iPad friendly store!

Next Ravel-huh? is on Thursday August 4th at 6pm. The workshop fee is $25. Call the shop at 831-426-1425 to sign up, or sign up on the website.

Knit 1.0 is, as you may expect, your basic learn to knit class. You'll find out what all the hoopla is about - casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off - in two 1 1/2 hour sessions on consecutive Saturdays. Knitting 1.0 is $45, and you get a 10% discount on class supplies. First session is scheduled for August 13 at 11am.

Crochet 1.0 is the same as Knit 1.0, only different... it's crocheting instead of knitting! Use one hook in lieu of two needles. The argument rages about which is more difficult, knit or crochet. Learn both, and figure out for yourself that they are both easy! Crochet 1.0 is $45, and you get a 10% discount on class supplies. First session is scheduled for August 27 at 11am.
